Walking the Line
Walking the line is a story about a guy who never really got it together. The drink won hands down every time.
He followed the classic route in life, you know, went to college, got pissed all the time, did all the drugs, and sowed his oats as you do. But never grew up.
He tried to settle down had kids but didn’t work out.
His wife left him but when he realized this, it was all too late, there was no going back.
The only thing that kept him sober with the struggles of life was the drink.
The expression ‘walking the line’ probably has many meanings but for me two that come to mind are
1: trying to walk in a straight line after being caught drunk driving
2: walking the line to death row
In way this guy incorporates the two.
